In a latest development, Xiaomi has officially launched the Redmi 4 in India.The phone runs on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 435 processor, an Adreno 505 GPU and is paired with either 2, 3 or 4 GB of RAM. Customers can also select between the 16 and 32GB storage variants. The Redmi 4 also supports microSD’s up to 128GB and has Xiaomi’s MiUi 8 skin on top of Android 6.0.1.
On the front of phone is a 5 inch 720p IPS display with 296 PPI. The screen also boasts a contrast ratio of 1000:1, the phone also has support for Dual-SIM with one micro and one nano SIM support. On the back of the phone is a 13MP camera with an f/2.0 aperture and Phase Detection Auto Focus technology. The camera also records 1080p FHD videos at 30 frames per second. The phone has a 5MP selfie cam on the front with an f/2.2 aperture. There is also a fingerprint sensor on the back which can be configured to unlock straight to custom profiles called Second Space, depending on the finger you unlock with. The phone has 4100mAh battery which the company claims can last two days of heavy usage on a charge.
The Redmi 4 will be available online on Amazon and Mi.com starting on 23 May for INR 6,999 for the 2GB RAM + 16GB Storage version, INR 8,999 for the 3GB + 32GB version and INR 10,999 for the 4GB + 64GB version. Consumers can also pre-book the Redmi 4 to buy it from a Mi Store on 20 May.
The company also announced new Mi Home locations that are coming soon to India, with new stores coming in Delhi, Hyderabad, Mumbai and Chennai and made a promise to customers to keep the stores always in stock, in case if a product is not available in the store, Xiaomi will issue you a code for the product that can be redeemed online at Mi.com.
The company also launched the Mi Router 3C in India, which is priced at INR 1,199. Xiaomi claims that the router provides a stable internet connection and spreads powerful WiFi signals to every corner of your house. In comparison to the previous model in the series, the 3C has slightly beefed up specifications with WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n IEEE support on a 2.4 GHz frequency with a range of up to 80 meters and speeds up to 300 Mbps.
