Bentley defines luxury

Hard to believe but Bentley has emerged as the winner. The British automaker has just unleashed a world beating concept convertible on the 2014 LA Auto Show.

Dubbed the Grand Convertible, the behemoth seems like the penultimate word on luxury motoring.

The Grand Convertible is equipped with Bentley’s signature 6.75-liter twin turbo V8, which puts out 530 horsepower and 830 pound-feet of torque, enough to create actual time paradoxes.

No word on performance figures, but if it is anything like its Mulsanne and GT Speed compatriots the Grand Convertible will overcome galactic weight to achieve mind bending performance.

The Grand Convertible has everything we have come to expect from British luxury. The rear deck Tonneau cover is a sea of walnut polished to a mirror finish, like something off a duke’s motor yacht.

The interior is also breathtaking: It has a large enough to seat at least two monarchs, three sitting heads of state or four regular fabulously wealthy in a sea of buttery quilted leather.

In fact, Bentley needed to skin 14 very fashionable cows to provide the wrappings for the seats and trim.

There is no word on whether Bentley will actually produce this vehicle, but the executives seem optimistic. Bentley’s very British CEO Wolfgang Durheimer said they were awaiting the response of the customers to this car.

He further said, the company would ensure that the car – if it reaches the roads – will be a highly exclusive, extremely limited collector’s piece.
